We welcome you to Mullion and our Church of St Mellanus . Built in the13th century, it has many interesting features and we carefully maintain it for the benefit of the present and future generations. With about two and a half thousand residents, Mullion is the largest village on the Lizard and houses the area comprehensive secondary school, as well as the village primary school. It is busy enough to have a one-way traffic system which takes one round the churchtown, still the heart of the parish and dominated by the parish Church of St Mellanus. Mullion has two inns; the Mount’s Bay Inn built in 1910 and the Old Inn, a famous meeting place for smugglers , built by the mason who worked on the church in the 15th century. Nowadays the village has several eating houses and shops It has a good cricket team, and many other lively organisations. Its 18 hole golf course is challenging especially in the rain and the wind, but the views from it are magnificent on a fair day. Our coastline is a natural attraction to tourists but in addition the area is of major geological importance as the village itself is just south of the Geological fault line which crosses the Lizard Peninsula from Polurrian Cove in the west to Porthallow in the east. Our Church is open every day for visitors, with a knowledgeable person on hand to answer many frequently asked questions about the building. We have regular services throughout the week to which visitors are warmly invited. PLEASE DO PAY US A VISIT - YOU WILL BE RICHLY REWARDED ! Mullion Old Inn a former meeting place for smugglers.
